The national member body of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in China, (SAC), has proposed this activity.</p><p>The purpose of the new committee, if established, is to prepare Standards in the field of mechanical product remanufacturing. <p>The national member body of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in Israel, (SSI), is hosting a workshop on Multiple Resource Productivity (MRP). The workshop will be held from 8 to 11 July in Haifa in Israel. </p>
<p>There is an increasing understanding that basic resources such as water, energy, and land (food, biodiversity, and so on) are interlinked and interdependent, and that each project concerning one of them should be assessed for its impact on all of them. As a result, the need for a common assessment methodology and modelling process is required to be accepted internationally.</p>
<p>The impact on each basic resource, positive or negative, needs to be assessed using a common methodology that will allow for the addition of new resources into the assessment, and for the assessment to be conducted according to commonly agreed-on methodology. The objective of the workshop is to reach agreement on an International Workshop Agreement, which will be published by ISO.</p>

<p>ISO's <em>Annual Report 2012</em> outlines the organisation's performance last year and its future ambitions. 'In 2012, ISO looked to inspire innovative solutions for all industry sectors', comments ISO Secretary-General Rob Steele. 'We want to give our customers the tools for a simpler, faster, and better approach to develop, access, and use ISO Standards.'</p>
<p>Looking ahead to 2013 and beyond, the ISO <em>Annual Report 2012</em> examines the organisation's future ambitions to deliver solutions for tomorrow's global challenges and to assist business and economies to recover from difficult times. As recently elected ISO President Terry Hill says, 'My appointment comes at a time when the world is looking to come out of this recession that we've been in for the last 4 to 5 years. Standards have to make sure that they are part of this resurgence.'</p>
