Creation of Spectrum Licences for FM Broadcasting

Issue 21 – October 2010

The Ministry of Economic Development has implemented a process to facilitate the use of new frequencies made available as a result of changes to existing licences in the FM broadcasting band.

The process involves placing conditions on new licences, which allows technical certification without requiring cancellation of the newly vacated licences.

For more information visit the Radio Spectrum Management website (www.rsm.govt.nz/cms/policy-and-planning/policy-documents-operational/broadcasting/policies-for-modification-of-spectrum-licences-for-fm-broadcasting).
